This piece of leftist malarkey was posted to make us feel bad. I don't. Illegals cost this country billions and take services that we cannot receive as citizens. Over 600 emergency rooms have shut down between TX and CA from illegals using services that we cannot get as citizens. Our prisons are filled with illegals. Illegals committing crimes are an epidemic. They don't need to worry, they will be sent south and can return with impunity.
Whomever wrote this, obviously wants the flood to continue unabated. I wonder if that person hires illegals at substandard wages to take advantage of them?
Giving them amnesty was tried during Reagan's first term. Never again. Made things worse.
We send Big Sis to Afghanistan to help them "secure the border", but the twit, our President, and Congress all ignore their oaths of office and do nothing to stem the tide of illegal migration across our southern border.
Ending anchor babies will help.

With friends like these, who needs enemies?
On 18 August, 2008, near Sarobi, Afghanistan, 10 French soldiers were killed. They had recently taken over security for the area from the Italian contingent to NATO for OEF.
The London Times is reporting a disturbing discovery. The Times alleges that the Italians were bribing the Taleban to keep them from attacking Italian construction crews and Italian troops in the area. This is an outrageous conduct on the part of one of NATO’s longest standing members.
The allegations claim that the French had no idea of the bribery to keep Italian troops safe before taking over security duties for the area. When the French troops took over, they were hit hard. The French troops thought they had inherited a relatively quiet area from the Italian’s experience there.
This is a very serious situation. NATO cannot have each contributing country making separate deals with the enemy to keep them from attacking their troops. That is simply traitorous in its scope and intent. Such conduct frees up the Taleban resources in that area for use against the rest of NATO’s forces fighting in their areas to rid Afghanistan of the Taleban’s insanity.
Surely the Italians realized that the monies paid would be used to buy arms and IED components to use against their brothers in arms?
An investigation needs to be undertaken at the highest levels of government. If Italy had a policy to bribe the enemy, then Italy should be forced to pay reparations for all NATO troops killed and wounded during the period their troops were protected by bribes to the enemy. Further, whomever authorized this policy should face trial as a traitor, and be imprisoned for life. Any Italian military who were aware of this policy should face courts martial, and imprisoned for their dishonorable conduct. One cannot fight a war in which one’s trusted allies are buying off the enemy.
Worse to me, as reported in the Washington Times, is the fact that our government has taken $2,600,000,000 ($2.6B) from our military budget that was to be used to support our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Instead, it was reappropriated to feel good projects, such as a Teddy Kennedy Educational Institute for $20,000,000. How much ammunition, equipment, medical supplies, helicopters and spares parts for helicopters could this money have purchased?
On the one hand, we have the Italians bribing the big bad Taleban to leave their troops unharmed. On the other, we have the Obama Administration and its socialist Congress stealing from the defense budget to pay off special interests.
Anyone with a loved one in the military should contact their congressman and the Obama Administration and demand they restore the soldiers’ funding. Cutting the military’s ability to support our troops is simply insane. In that vein, the Italians’ duplicity and the Obama Administration’s failure to support our troops serve the same purpose. This conduct degrades NATO’s ability to wage a war and gives the enemy comfort and solace in the knowledge that the Western governments lack the will to see the conflict through.
How long before the radical Muslim element gets lucky and we are hit again, as on 9-11? Not as if they are not trying, given the recent revelations about CAIR and its association with HAMAS, and the conspiracies broken up by the FBI.
Yet, Obama/Pelosi/Reid et al are going hell bent for leather to establish the U.S. as a socialist state while short sheeting our troops in the field. The Senate will kill it . . . I hope
The House passed the largest tax increase in the history of the U.S.
The Tax and Cap plan to cut carbon emissions will be a major failure, just as it has been in Europe. The only success of these schemes has been to increase the cost of energy generation to business and consumers. The biggest losers have been the consumer, as corporations do not pay taxes, the consumer does. Try telling that to Nancy Pelosi.
I am in Alberta on business, in an area where there are a lot of wind turbines. These turbines provide for 30% of the power to Calgary and 100% of the light rail power for the trams serving Calgary. However, the wind does not always blow.
Where does the power come from when the wind does not blow?
The wind comes from conventional sources--coal and natural gas. The capacity to cover the period for those days when the wind is insufficient has to be provided for.
Alternative energy--wind, solar, and biological--has yet to demonstrate the ability to be cost effective as a replacement for hydrocarbons--natural gas, liquid fuels--and coal.
The only real means to reduce emissions is to build nuclear power plants to replace natural gas and coal fired power plants, and to continue to improve the efficiency of insulating materials for residential and business construction.
There have been eontinuing improvements in vehicle efficiency.
What is missing in all of this, is the third world's part. India and China are the major polluters on Earth. Why are they not working to reduce the impact of their industrialization? They have an advantage over the Western world. The technology to reduce their impact exists. They just choose not to use it.
Pelosi and the other nutcases in Congress have demonstrated that they are completely out of touch and need to be replaced.
This imposition of federal excess is a demonstration of why there is a 10th Amendment.
The States should reject this legislation. However, the Senate has indicated that it will not pass any such legislation, saving everyone from this stupidity.

Obama, Jimmy Carter by any other name
Barak Obama is pursuing a propaganda game to paint the recession as being the worst since the Great Depression. In reality, it is not as bad--YET--as the debacle of our economy shepherded by President and peanut farmer Jimmy Carter in the late 70s early 80s.
Before Ronald Reagan took office, Carter had managed to bungle the economy into 18% inflation. In Alaska, interest rates at local banks were up to 22% to offset the declining value of the dollar.
Obama's messages have had a common note. Things are worse than they have ever been, things will get worse, and the feds need to squander our taxes in ponzi schemes for the inept jerks on Wall Street, at Fannie Mae, Freedie Mac, and in Congress. What he does not say, is that the PRC is not going to buy our debt, which means the fed is printing money, and that means . . . inflation will soon rear its ugly head. One cannot print a $trillion dollars and expect the dollar to be unscathed on the world market.

Inflation is an economic killer. All of us will feel the impact of an inflationary spiral resulting from the printing of more money to promote the liberal agenda and the unbridled growth of government. The price of bread, milk, sugar, gasoline, clothes, diapers . . . everything will go up. The poor and the rich alike will pay more and more and more as prices rise weekly.
In Zimbabwe, a loaf of bread is now a TRILLION of their currency. The government had to print trillion denomination notes. The money is worthless.
That is exactly what your government is now doing. Printing more money and making it worth less.
I remember the Carter years and the last year of Nixon and price controls. Nixon had an oil embargo to deal with. Carter had the aftermath. Worse, Iran underwent an Islamic revolution that resulted in the take over of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and our embassy personnel being held hostage, 5 dead Airforce and Marine personnel, and a burned out C130 and H53 helicopter left in the desert in the abortive attempt to free those hostages.
Carter's solutions to his economic woes and the challenge by Iran's Islamic regime? Spend more, put on a sweater, and talk. The U.S. was shown to be weak and ineffective in protecting its embassy in Tehren, something that ended with the election of Ronald Reagan and the freeing of the hostages.
Reagan became president and there was hope. Unlike Obama who continually reinforces why bigger government and unbridled spending is necessary, Reagan called for tax cuts and gave reasons why we should have faith in ourselves and the country--not the government. Reagan's speeches continually told us that smaller government was better, and that we could spend our money better than government, that tax cuts meant we would keep more of our money.
Obama just tells us to give more to the government. That the government that made the mess will spend us out of our economic problems.
No. Inflation will be the result.
Inflation will hurt the poor and the middle class more than any.
Obama/Pelosi have us on a course for disaster.
Contact your Congressional delegation in the House and Senate and tell them that you want tax cuts, and you want the spending to cease. Otherwise, things will get worse. Inflation will result, and then we will risk a long term depression.
In the mean time, save your money, be frugal, and use as little gasoline as you have to. The less gas you use, the lower the price at the pump. That was the only "positive" outcome of the high prices we paid this summer.
After all, it is our savings that banks and credit unions use for loan capital, not money from the government. Government ownership of these institutions is just asking for worse yet economically. As screwed up as Washington D. C. is, what do you think will happen to our loan institutions with government ownership and meddling?
What was it that created the home mortgage subprime mess? Pelosi, Barney Frank and Harry Reid and their ilk, with the complicity of George Bush trying to influence the next election by showing that Republicans could out lib the libs. Fools, one and all, and we will pay the price.
Yell at your local governments to cut their spending, and not increase your taxes at the cash register and for your property.
If we do not stop the lies coming from the Whitehouse and Pelosi/Reid, the United States is headed for a socialist experiment that will result in utter devastation of the free market economy and in an over burdensome and oppressive government.
If this idiocy continues, we will see a Great Depression, the depression of Obama/Pelosi.
It is time the Republicans in Congress started calling Obama on his characterizations of the economic situation. And, you and I paid more attention to why no tax cuts and less spending versus more spending and bigger government.

Pelosi and the Dems want to . . . prosecute?
Today's Fox News gave an interview with our illustrious House Speaker. Madam Rep. Pelosi stated to the effect that the dem Congress might just not be able to overlook the issues of the war, intelligence gathering, and those other illegal activities that the Bushies used to keep us free of terrorism within our own borders the last 8 years.
She was amongst those who stood and cheered and applauded the President when he made his speech to Congress about the course of the United States in responding to 9-11. Bush hid nothing.
She was a member of the Congress that passed every act the President asked for.
Where's the beef in her alleging that there must be investigations and prosecutions for any Bush official when it comes to the prosecution of a war she voted for?
Her counterparts in the Senate have been the most flagrant. Sen. Harry Reid was widely considered to be the person whose office leaked information to the press regarding intelligence activities.
Sen. Boxer, or was it Feinstein, on the appropriations subcommittee pushed $10s of millions in contracts to a company by the name of RSR Environmental.
RSR went from about $200,000 per year in military environmental contracts to $10 million the first year the aforementioned democratic senator's husband purchased stock in the company.
I have little doubt, that given Nancy Pelosi's hardball tactics within her own party ranks in Congress, that there is undo influence and more than just one or two situations that if subjected to the scrutiny of the law that would land her posterior behind bars. She is a hardcore left ideologue who will shout the law to all who can hear to keep the proletariat from learning the truth about the democratic house of glass and her excesses.
I guess the dems actually figure that if they lie enough, and shout that Bush's people did illegal acts when they did not, that we are stupid enough to ignore the truth and take the dem tripe verbatim without recognizing the lie for what it is: a means to consolidate power and reduce the likelihood of the dem party retaining its preeminence in Congress and the Presidency.
To waste the country's time and money at a time of economic challenge is an indication that vendettas are more important than the welfare of the country.
Any prosecutions alleged by Pelosi and her ilk are not about the sanctity of the law. They are about securing and insuring power without any fair recourse to the Republicans. The intent of the dems is to deep six the ability of the Republican Party to gain and hold power in the country.
Looking at the difference in the party platforms, I take the R platform any day. I like going to caucuses where we discuss family, life, and patriotism openly. Where we take pride in our military and honor the young men and women serving. A party where language, borders and culture mean the U.S. border, the English language, and OUR culture. Where unity is the key, not divisiveness--read diversity. Where there is only 3 colors: RED, WHITE, and BLUE. Where all are Americans, not hyphenated anything.
The dems give lip service to the military and only tolerate the military for its use as a social experiment.
The dems extoll death in abortion.
The dems deny marriage is between a man and woman. Two Ms or two Fs don't make a third anything. Homosexualism is a sad "evolutionary" DEAD END.
Dems believe business is bad and that more government handing out everything and keeping those bad Christians and conservatives quiet is good.
Dems believe religion and morality is bad. That the 1st Amendment means that pornography and sexual perversion of all types is to be readily available in our public libraries at public expense, but that the Word of God is verboten in any context and an affront to them.
That feeling good is the priority in life, not having personal responsibility is a right, and that being pregnant, unmarried, and female is the way families should be.
The dems believe that courts should legislate, not the people. Judges are to be the arbiters of their socialist agenda, not elections. Voting is bad, except where the fraud benefits the dem candidate or issue.
I was a democrat. A very long time ago. I changed parties when the dem party became a party of not asking what you could do for your country, but demanding that your country owes you a living.
The last TRUE democrat in Congress was Zell Miller of Georgia. He was the last of the true conservative dems. The last of the Kennedy (as in John) dems. The last of the dems who believed in the individual, not government. Who believed in tax breaks, not more taxes.
John Kennedy was responsible for the greatest tax cuts in the history in the history of the U.S. He believed in life. What happened to that dem party?
So, you see, when Nancy Pelosi starts talking vendettas, that the law must prevail, hide. Load your weapons, and wait. The time will come when we will have refresh the tree of liberty. I fear, all too soon.
Thank you, Lord, and George Washington for the 2d Amendment. (That GW is family, btw.)

I think Pelosi is a bully who is riding a false crest of populist support that is not there, nor was ever there in the first place. Saying that the dems had a mandate is belied by the figures. I believe that she and the other dem socialist fruitcake ideologues will be spitting nails before the first year of the Obama administration is over. The reality is, that Obama picked a largely centrist cabinet. He understood the nature of the vote, and is in for the long haul, in spite of Pelosi's stupidity and shortsightedness. He will divorce himself from her extremism, until his second term when he has nothing to lose. That is when we will see Barak Obama, the socialist.
In the mean time, let Pelosi, Reid and the other morons howl in the wind and rattle sabers. Sooner or later, after the next Congressional election, they will understand that they are too far from their president and that the people did not vote a socialist agenda, they voted against a false conservative and a false conservative Congress. That those who voted dem who would have otherwise voted R voted dem to force change in the R party by sending a strong message to the neo cons.
This election was a bell weather event for the R party. Return to conservative values, or forget it until the party returns to its core values.
Every one forgets, GW campaigned twice on conservative values, and won.
