The beneficary of the Zimmerman verdict
The jury confirmed what everyone but Dr. Michael Savage and a bunch of liberal race baiters already knew: George Zimmerman acted in self-defense, in fear of his life when he fired the shot that killed Trayvon Martin.
Trayvon Martin was constantly being promoted as an innocent looking 12 year old black kid in a white hoodie, instead of the 17 year old, over 6ft tall gansta wanna be who was into drugs that he was. He liked the violent image he portrayed. Just before he was shot and killed, he attacked and beat on what he thought was a smaller white man. Why? Ask his mother and father. Maybe, he figured he could get by with striking first. He picked the wrong man. The guy was Hispanic and armed. Once again, the Second Amendment prevails.
Anyone who does not believe that this issue is finished is sadly mistaken. All throughout the coverage on the trial have been comments and focus from the media and celebrities on the "stand your ground law" and about using a firearm in self defense. Somehow or another, like Dr. Michael Savage’s arrogant and inappropriate appraisal of the situation, the media, politicians, race baiters, Hollywood celebrities, and our President have interjected the Second Amendment rights of Zimmerman into the equation of a violent confrontation turning against the attacker, because the victim was armed.
A jury sorted out the facts, which is all we need to be concerned with, given the media’s unrelenting focus. Unfortunately, that same media chose to ignore Benghazi, the ever burgeoning revelations regarding the abuse of power by the IRS, the unreasonable and unwarranted overreach into innocent American’s private communications by the NSA, the illegal monitoring and record taking of reporter’s phone records, Fast and Furious, the abuse of power by EPA targeting conservative businesses, the continuing demonstration that Obamacare is an unmitigated disaster, the abuse of her position by Katheen Sebelius Secretary of HHS, Janet Napolitano Secretary of DHS failing to enforce our laws and sanctioning Fast and Furious, AG Eric Holder’s lies and abuses of power in selective enforcement of our laws, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s lies, and the lies of our President and his failure to enforce our laws, and the breach of trust by the public officials under him who’ve lied to cover up the ongoing scandals involving the Obama Administration, its foreign policy, and its domestic policies. One would think, with all of that ongoing, the Zimmerman case would be ancient history.
The President made a statement on 14 July. The full text is as follows:
"The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America. I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin."
The key phrase is "We should ask our selves, as individuals, and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this." Already, the President’s assault on the Second is revving up. We will hear from Congress, Hollywood, and Martin’s parents again and again over the next few weeks.
One of the more insidious attacks on the ability of law abiding Americans to use their Second Amendment rights to maintain the proficiency of firearms skills is the federal government’s initiatives to undermine the market for ammunition. This has been accomplished by the DHS ordering 1.6 billion rounds of .40 cal S&W hollow point ammunition, and military grade ammunition for .223/5.56mm ARs. Now, the government has gone one step further with an imposition through regulation by requiring ‘environmentally’ friendly ammunition.
The government is trying to impose a substitute upon ammunition manufacturers to replace lead and lead core bullets with ‘environmentally friendly’ bullets. Usually tungsten or copper is used to replace the lead. This also raises the price of the ammo to the end user. Delays in any final decisions on what the metal mix would be can be expected to further exacerbate the already incredible shortage of ammunition on the shelves of America’s gun shops. This is bad news for hunters and sports shooters. The hypocrisy in this move is that federal law enforcement will be required to train with such ammo, but will use lead based ammo for duty. As usual, the feds exempt themselves from any prohibitions.
Given the continuing assault on domestic resource development by the Obama Administration, how long before copper jacked bullets or even steel shot become scarce?
The liberal media and race baiting crowd are howling for federal charges for a violation of Martin’s rights. Yet, this same media ignores those who have a real case and whose lives have been taken egregiously by militarized cops. Most of those folks are not black, so they are ignored, just as black on black crime is largely ignored.
The left’s desire for gun control will come to the forefront as they press for "less violence". The scandals of the Obama regime will continue to be ignored by the mainstream press in an attempt to keep their liberal President from being impeached.
